Team From Nijmegen won HIRDA Futsal Tournament 2019

On 21th and 22th December 2019, HIRDA successfully organized again the HIRDA Tournament “Amsterdam Futsal Tournament”(AFT) 2019. Team from Nijmegen won The AFT 2019 and Team from Leuven (BL) took the second place of AFT 2019. Minister of the youth and sport of Somali federal government , minister of youth and sport of south west regional state of Somalia, head of sport of Amsterdam municipality Mr. Henk Stockhof were among the guest of the tournament and our side event of HIRDA achievers Award this year.

Due to the heavy rain of in this week and increased the level of Shabele river was the variuous of cities of Hiiran region heavy flooded. Those cities are in crisis and thuisends of vulnerable people has been effected and displaced. It was shocking and horible moment for the people of those cities specialy people in Beledweyn.The government has confirmed that around 70,000 people have been displaced so far, with teams on the ground stressing that the number is increasing day-by-day. Allmost 11 people were caried away by the flood and not found yet. 10 people who were in rescue boot have passede away. They include officials in the region, diasporas and youth volunteers. People In Beledweyn are desperate and in need. There no sufficient food, safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation facilities, emergency education and temporary shelter. The emergency situation is further compounded for flood affected people with vulnerabilities. There is a pressing necessity to provide immediate assistance to minimize loss of life and to ensure that the needs of the most vulnerable are covered.
