Children in Dolow Become Peace Agents
In six schools and youth clubs in Dolow district, HIRDA empowered children to be agents of change by engaging in peace building and conflict resolution in their own communities. Per youth club between twenty and thirty children of different ages learned about rights and skills of organization and leadership. HIRDA aims that, subsequently, these children will attract more children to their school. Furthermore, these children are trained to identify areas in their school and community that are in need of improvement.
This training and the youth clubs are extra-curricular activities. Their goal is to provide a forum for children’s involvement and participation in rights-based issues emanating from clubs within the schools, which have improved their lives.
