Lilianne Ploumen meets HIRDA at Africa Day
Lilianne Ploumen, Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Cooperation, visited HIRDA at Africa Day. For the second time Ploumen provided the opening speech at the annual event for political and social debate about international cooperation. Foundation Max van der Stoel organised Africa Day this year that took place in the Royal Tropical Institute on November 2nd. HIRDA was proud to be present again and highly honoured to have had the opportunity to present its work to the Dutch Minister. Especially, since Ploumen just returned from a visit to Somalia, where she investigated possible opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs to invest in the country.
During the day Dutch as well as international guests have taken the stand with inspiring speeches. Furthermore, it was possible to participate in different workshops and debates on the development issues of the different countries in Africa.
